In the late hours of 03/06, CCSO requested PNWSAR assistance in the search for a missing male near the Ripplebrook Ranger Station. The subject was reported to be suffering from dementia, and his car had been located on a Forest Service road with no nearby sign of its owner. Our assignment was to search a radius around the subject's car. Heavy snow fell throughout the night, and our team searched with snowshoes. No clues were found, and searchers returned to base and were released. A second wave of searchers were called for the following morning. The morning PNWSAR responders were called off when the subject was located by MCSO searchers, covered in snow. PNWSAR extends our gratitude to our fellow SAR volunteers, and would like to extend our condolences to the man's family and friends.
